| Technical Engineer (Surveyor)
The Work:
Technical Engineer apprentices are Surveyors. They are responsible for surveying horizontal and vertical control, locating the placement of excavation, fills, concrete, anchor bolts and upright steel in the construction industry.
Working Conditions:
Rain forest to Arctic environments. Urban, rural and remote locations, statewide. Work is performed outdoors exposed to adverse weather conditions. Expect to work long hours.
The Apprenticeship
The term of apprenticeship is 4 years and requires a total of 4,000 hours of on-the-job training and 4-6 weeks of classroom instruction per year.
Enrollment Period: Applications are accepted during an advertised opening, usually during Spring and Fall. Call the office for information on the enrollment period.
