The Adult Public Assistance (APA) Program provides financial assistance to low-income needy, aged, blind, and disabled persons. Individuals might be eligible even if they receive Social Security or other retirement or disability benefits. People can receive APA if they are over 65 years old, blind, or have severe and long term disabilities.
Services
This program can provide Alaskans age 65 and older with Medicaid coverage, and, for those meeting income eligibility guidelines, with monthly cash assistance to supplement SSI.
